LA Lakers may have found their man to succeed Phil Jackson

Apparently the LA Lakers may have found their man to succeed Phil Jackson as the Lakers next head coach. No it's not former Rockets coach Rick Adelman.  No it's not former Lakers player and current assistant coach Brian Shaw. According to multiple sources the Lakers have offered former Cleveland Cavs coach Mike Brown a four year, $18 million contract. The deal would give Brown an annual salary of about $4- $4.5 million per year which guarantees three years and has a team option on the fourth year.

Although Brown isn't known as a Offensive minded coach he has a defensive mindset that could fit well with the Lakers' personnel in place. Brown's defensive knowledge was gained as an assistant of both Larry Brown and Gregg Popovich in Indiana and San Antonio respectively. Coach Brown also has a history with several players on the current Laker team including Ron Artest, Shannon Brown and Trey Johnson. One of the most impressive points of this possible decision is that Brown has had success coaching huge talent and big ego being apart of the Spurs success and most recently Coaching former NBA MVP Lebron James but will that matter to Kobe?  Kobe gave his recommendations for the vacant  position and Mike Brown's name didn't come up.

If selected Coach Brown will have huge shoes to fill with the Resume Phil Jackson rode into the Sunset with. Let's hope the Lakers are making the right choice as their look to return to greatness.
