Rick Ross Takes Gangster Disciples Death Threat Serious, Cancels Show In Charlotte

A few Months ago the Gangster Disciples released a YouTube video saying they wanted to kill MMG CEO Rick Ross. The Threat stems from Ross calling out the name of their leader (Lary Hoover) and using the Star of David (which they also use) on his Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape cover.

The Teflon Don, canceled his show in Charlotte, scheduled for this weekend, allegedly due to threats from gang members in the area.

Neither Ross nor the show's promoter, Live Nation, have named the gang situation as a reason, but members of the Gangster Disciples have beef with the rapper over him calling out the name of their leader and using the Star of David (which they also use) on his Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape. The group released a YouTube video threatening him to stay out of the North Carolina city.

Paul Scott, a minister and Hip-Hop journalist, believes that killing the show was the right move. “I think fans should be concerned I think the parents should be concerned because you never know,” Scott said. “No one took the Tupac Notorious BIG beef seriously until they were both dead.”

Local police said in a statement that they take security measure very seriously. “As always with large events such as this concert, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will remain vigilant and work to ensure a safe environment for all those attending.”
