Young Buck is currently serving a 18 month sentence for gun possession. Around 2005 Buck was apart of G-Unit and arguably one of the most talented members. But, shit happens and Buck was kicked out of the group.
What happens when a Trap Nigga is sent back to the Trap House after being famous?
On the first track of the TrapsnTrunks.com Mixtape 'Free Young Buck" Buck lets us know "This Shit Is Rough". This is the perfect song to start off the mixtape, The Drumma Boy beat knocks and sets the tone for the vibe of the mixtape. In the track Buck says he wants the "Choppa" because its time to flex! Looks like someone wants to pull some jack moves.
After times get rough, Buck needs to "Re-Up" and he brings along Southern Legends Eightball & MJG. The Cocaine laced lyrics ride the wave of this piano inspired beat perfectly.
We ride the tempo of Re-Up and "Do It" on track number 3. Buck gets back to his trapping days on this track. The track is all about the hoes he smashed and getting off his work. At the end of the track you can hear an interview with buck as he comments his IRS and Prison situations.
Buck straps up and "Kills Something". Dramma Boy is back on the beat and they both kill the song. The song has one of those smoked out type beats and Buck lets us know he not worried about no Fuck boy's.
The features on the mixtape are very limited, but Buck uses them well. On "So Gone" 2 Chainz and Buck are so gone, they don't know if they are coming or going. This is the lead single off the mixtape.
Buck is smoking on some bud on the way to the club with a choppa on the "Front Seat". In the bass heavy track Bucks talks about poppin pills and clubbing. He also lets us know he is willing to pop off.
On "Compare Me" over an old school type track, Buck lets us into his life as the son of a shooter. In the opening of the track Buck is staring at the empty shells. He continues to explain why he doesn't vote and even touches on his IRS problems.
Somebody is knocking at the door and as he is looking thru the "Peep Hole" he wonders if its the police or someone trying to take over. You can find Dramma Boy On the beat and a feature from Charlie P.
Damn! I thought that nigga B.G. was dead, but he is living and spits a 16 on "Better Know It" reminding us you can find him in the streets.
They killing in the city, but when they ask tell them "I Don't Know" this song is a warning to what happens when you Snitch. Everybody shooting, but he can't be with out a choppa. DJ Paul is featured on the track and brings his "Three 6 Mafia" style to the track and just so you know "DJ Paul Don't Snitch, Bitch!"
"And I'm Running From The Police In My Air Yeezys", that's what Buck is doing on the track "Air Yeezys". Buck was picked up by the police but his young boys are out waiting on him to deliver the product. So what is a Trap Nigga to do? Hit the pavement and start running, of course!
"To Be Continued" examines his current situation of heading to prison over a gun he claims is not here. He also takes this time to addresses the people who claim he snitched for a lesser sentence, where Buck explains he never snitched he just settled his case.
Buck is riding around the city "Throwed Off". The track features "Tha City Paper" as does the next 2 tracks "The Reason" and "Pussy Bill". all 3 tracks continue the vibe of the mixtape being a trap knocker, but nothing special.
The Outlawz featured track "Son of God" slows down the mixtape and brings us to some different then the drug and gun talk that is filled in the mixtape. The rappers question the race of Jesus and reminds us that we are all created in the eye of god.
The last track "Where you want me" featuring C-Bo is a big let down and seems to be the problem with most artist today. The mixtape started out being a good "Trap House" type mixtape, but towards the end it falls off.
While there are worse mixtapes out, this one seems to fall a little bit short. The beats are "Trap House" friendly, but it falls off toward the last 5 tracks.
