Stevie Wonder Clarifies Gays Are "Confused" Statement

Stevie Wonder didn't mean to offend when he commented on Frank Ocean, and gay people in general. The singer told The Guardian that "some" gay people are "confused" about their s-xuality, but according to Wonder, his statement was taken out of context.

"I'm sorry that my words about anyone feeling confused about their love were misunderstood," he said in a statement to Hip-Hop Wired. "No one has been a greater advocate for the power of love in this world than I; both in my life and in my music. Clearly, love is love, between a man and a woman, a woman and a man, a woman and a woman and a man and a man. What I'm not confused about is the world needing much more love, no hate no prejudice, no bigotry and more unity, peace and understanding. Period. "

Wonder made the remark after being asked about Ocean, who has been compared to the music legend. Ocean came out of the closet just before the release of his Channel Orange album, admitting to falling in love with another man when he was 19. He also sings his love for another man on the album.

Ocean never commented on Wonder's original proclamation, but tweeted "Ya boy aint got sh-t to say," which may have been his way of responding in the most respectful way possible.
