The rapper leads the nominees for the annual music ceremony, which were announced on Wednesday.
He will compete in categories including Producer of the Year, Director of the Year, Hustler of the Year and Lyricist of the Year, for which he will face competition from his Watch the Throne collaborator Jay-Z.
The duo's hit song "Paris" is up for Track of The Year and Best Club Banger, while West was nominated twice in the Best Live Performer category - as a solo act and also with partner Jay-Z.
Kanye isn't the only rapper with multiple nominations though, with 2 Chainz and Drake scoring 13 and 11 nods respectively.
The ceremony, to be hosted for the third time by comedian Mike Epps, will air in the U.S. on October 9.
