Christian Rapper Lecrae's "Gravity" Album To Debut At No. 3 On Billboard Charts

It's easy to root for Houston-born, Atlanta-based Christian rapper Lecrae. After turning heads during the “Cypher” session at last year's BET Hip-Hop Awards, Lecrae has made a steady climb into the mainstream. A well-received mixtape, Church Clothes, started a barrage of interest in the 32-year-old, married father of three, and continued with the release of his sixth studio album Gravity.

The good fortune continues to roll in for Lecrae as he's on pace to sell 70,000-plus units of his latest release, and debuting at #3 on the Billboard charts.

Gravity, released on Reach Records, got tons of buzz after a leaked track “Mayday” featuring Big K.R.I.T. and American Idol singer Ashton Jones, hit the Internet last month. Building on the momentum of the Church Clothes mixtape, Lecrae enlists the talents of production team Heat Academy and DJ Khalil, among others. Features include singer-rapper Novel, along with Reach label mates Trip Lee and Tedashii.
