For the past 16 years the city of Los Angeles has been trying to bring a NFL team to their beloved city of angels and they just got a step closer. LA's city council has unanimously passed the financial framework of an agreement between Anschutz Entertainment Group and the city to build Farmers Field, a $1.2 billion football stadium and the events center in downtown LA.
This 68,000 seat roofed stadium would be attached to a new $275 million wing of the LA convention center next to the Staples center. Now that the stadium has been approved all the city of angels needs is a new team. The team move likely to is the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers entered the NFL in 1960 as the Los Angeles Chargers and later moved to San Diego. The other teams in the relocation conversations are the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, St.Louis Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars. September 2016 is the target opening date for the new Farmers Field.
