NFL Investigating Trademark Infringement Involving 5 Players And Porn Stars

The National Football League is investigating an advertisement for a major porn event featuring five NFL players in uniform.

Chicago's Major Wright, Kansas City's Eric Berry and Brandon Flowers, Houston's Kareem Jackson and Oakland receiver Jacoby Ford were all featured on an ad for the Exxxotica Expo 2011 in Miami, FL.
According to the Huffington Post:
Brian McCarthy, NFL vice president of corporate communications, told ESPNChicago.com that it's an “intellectual property issue” because the “players were featured in their team jerseys.”
“The NFL office works on behalf of the clubs to protect their intellectual property rights in matters such as this,” McCarthy said. “Our legal team is reviewing the ad. In general, companies not affiliated with the NFL or its clubs may not depict a player in his uniform.”
It's a good chance these players had no idea they were breaking rules or appearing on the flyers in their uniforms.
