Incarcerated Louisiana rapper Lil' Boosie is being accused of threatening a Louisiana district attorney, as he serves time in prison on drug possession charges and a possible murder charge.

According to reports, Boosie, born Torrance Hatch, is under investigation for making threats to District Attorney Hillar Moore and the D.A.'s office. "I can confirm that we received information relative to a credible threat against District Attorney Hillar Moore and the District Attorney's Office," State Police spokesperson Lt. Doug Cain said in a statement.

Cain also noted that Boosie's bust for attempting to smuggle codeine into the Louisiana State Penitentiary, where he is currently serving his time, led to an investigation surrounding the alleged threat. In the past, Boosie has been very vocal about his disdain towards Moore, lashing out against him in the song 'F--- Em All.'

Despite the investigation, Warden Burl Cain noted that the 28-year-old rapper has yet to be involved in any squabbles resulting in violence. "He has a hard time following basic rules," Cain said. "He's getting better though."

The rapper has been behind bars since 2009, after pleading guilty to a third-degree marijuana possession charge. Since being locked up, Boosie has fallen on harsh economic times, resulting in the foreclosure of his Baton Rouge, La. home.

Boosie is expected to face a judge on June 22 for a first-degree murder charge regarding the death of Terry Byrd. If convicted, he faces the death penalty.
