The legendary Queensbridge rapper Nas and Queensbridge natives Mobb Deep have announced that they will begin working on a collaboration album very soon.
On Tuesday (May 24), at a press conference for Rock The Bells 2011, Mobb Deep’s Havoc stated that the group would be working with Nas very shortly.
The statement went as follows: We’re gonna do a Mobb Deep and Nas album. It hasn’t begun but we tipped the iceberg a little bit with the 'Dog Sh--.' I think as we was working, doing songs back and forth with Nas recently, I think it was just a mutual thought, like, 'Yo, let’s make a f---ing album.' Everybody was like, 'Yeah, that would be dope. F--- it, what we waiting for? Let’s do it.'"
A while back a track leaked entitled Dog S---! The song featured Mobb Deep and Nas and was warmly received by the Hip-Hop community.
A couple of years ago, Nas and Prodigy had beef over many issues but it seems as if those have been resolved.
Prodigy was released from prison on March 7 after serving a three-year sentence for criminal possession of a weapon. With his new freedom, Prodigy reached out the Nas to try and squash whatever was between them.
No date was given on when album production will begin. Nas has said that at this time he is focused on his own project, and is back in the studio hard at work on his new album.
