Fans of rapper Tupac Shakur may have gotten their hopes up this weekend after hackers took over PBS and posted a false story claiming that the rapper was still alive.

CNN reports that online hackers broke into PBS.com and posted a story Saturday with the headline “Tupac Still Alive In New Zealand.”

The fake story, which has since been deleted, claimed that the rapper was alive and well in a small resort in New Zealand according to locals in the area

The article also claimed that Tupac's house had also been home to Biggie for a number of years.
Hackers “The Lulz Boat” have since taken responsibility for the hack and said they decided to break into the site after being "less than impressed with the network's program on international information leakers Wik Leaks.

Tupac has been dead for almost 15 years.
