Flavor Flav Chicken Restaurant Facing $12G Lawsuit

Flavor Flav may have distanced himself from his fried chicken restaurant, but the food establishment is still in trouble. According to reports, Flavor Flav's Fried Chicken, which is now closed down, is the subject of a new lawsuit filed by a distribution company for non-payment.

Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution, Inc. claims Flav's former business partner, Nicolo Cimino, owes the company more than $12,000 for failing to pay for previous food shipments. The company filed the suit in Johnson County, Iowa, and is requesting that the judge order Cimino to cover the $12,153 non-payment fee, plus attorney's fees and interest.

Flav, who's famously known as Public Enemy's hype man, pulled the plug on the Clinton, Iowa chicken joint last month amid reports of fraudulent business practices. Employees of the restaurant accused Flav and Cimino of failing to pay them on time, as well as writing bad checks. Although the 52-year-old initially put up a united front with Cimino, blaming the bad press on disgruntled employees, the two have since gone their separate ways and the split doesn't appear to be amicable.

"I had a licensing agreement with Nick Cimino and that's all we had," Flav said. "It was his business to run from there and the business was not run right."

The former reality star has plans to re-open Flavor Flav's Fried Chicken in Las Vegas.
