Pablo, born Moses Barrett III, will face up to 10 years in prison as a result of his actions. The rhymer, best known for his 2004 hit single 'Freek-A-Leek,' will be sentenced in June.
The 'Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry' creator was apprehended last September when he attempted to board a plane at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina. He was en route to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. When airport security scanned Pablo's bag through a screener, they found the firearm amongst his belongings inside.
At the time, a representative speaking on Pablo's behalf stated that the gun was confiscated from a "distressed friend" and hidden away in the bag and forgotten by Pablo. Unfortunately the grand jury that initially indicted the rapper did not believe him, claiming he was well aware that he was in possession of a "concealed dangerous weapon that was and would have been accessible to him in flight."
When the 37-year-old entertainer appeared in court yesterday, federal prosecutors agreed to drop two other charges in the plea agreement.
