Charles Hamilton was released from an Ohio jail last Wednesday (January 26) after spending well over a month behind bars for assaulting a police officer. But the troubled rapper will reportedly still have to undergo a mental health evaluation before his case proceeds.
Hamilton was arrested on December 10 after causing a disturbance in a number of Cleveland nightclubs. Police attempted to subdue him and he reacted by hitting one of them in the face resulting in his detainment. His bail was then set at $25,000 and he was facing two counts of assault and resisting arrest but no one seemed in a rush to let Hamilton back out on the street.
Since his departure from Interscope, the MC, who was a one-time hyped by XXL as a freshman to look out for in 2009, has become increasingly strange and self-destructive. He voluntarily admitted himself into New York’s Presbyterian Mental Hospital last summer and later on in the year he released a disturbing series of posts on his website that revealed his love for Eminem and announced a string of mixtapes and albums that he will be releasing independently.
Thus far neither Hamilton nor anyone from his camp has released a statement regarding the incident.
