Jonathan Smith, better known by his stage name Lil Jon and for his work on chart-toppers such as "Freek-a-Leek" and "Let's Go," is facing a hefty tax lien from the IRS.
It was announced this week that the Atlanta, Georgia, rapper had a nearly $640,000 tax lien placed against his $1.9 million dollar home in 2008.
Smith has since fallen behind on his mortgage payments, and the mansion fell into foreclosure in August of last year. Tax liens are usually placed against properties as a means for the IRS to secure unpaid income taxes from citizens.
However, despite the tax problems, Smith is scheduled to appear on the upcoming season of "Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice." Many of the shows participants have also faced tax troubles in the past, Detroit News reports.
In recent months, the tax agency announced it would step up its collection efforts this year as part of an effort to help reduce the federal deficit. As a result, a number of famous stars such as Montel Williams and Val Kilmer have faced tax liens.
