#3: MC Hammer Vs. Jay-Z
1 day later Hammer releases the music video "Better Run Run", in which The rapper turned Preacher, showcases his not so good flow and sports the tightest Ed Hardy T, we have ever seen on a grown man. Even though the flow was not there, the video did give us a few good laughs for showcaseing an over weight Jay-Z look alike, who Hammer personaly baptizes at the end of the video.
What got Hammer so heated: Jay-Z dropped a verse on the Kanye West song ""So Apalled" in which he references Mc Hammers finaical problems.
Hammer went broke, so you know I’m more focused/I lost 30 mil’, so I spent another 30/’Cause unlike Hammer, 30 million can’t hurt me,”
After Hammer released his diss video, Jay went on the radio and explained how he was not even aware that Hammers money problems were not up for discussion.
"I didn't know that [Hammer's financial status] wasn't on the table for discussion!" he said (he laughs or sounds like he's smiling throughout nearly the entire interview). "I didn't know I was the first person ever to say that — I'm not, am I?"
Who Won: We give Hammer a gold star for his effort, although he is still broke and Jay topped out as the highest earning Hip Hop artist on the 2010 Forbes list, but we feel sorry so were going to give it to Hammer.
#2: Nicki Minaj Vs. Lil Kim
Barbie Fight! 2010 was the year of Nicki Minaj and it seem to up set every other rap chick in the game. There's a list of Female MC's that tried their hand at coming at Nicki, but none to seem to have the impact that Lil Kim did.
We all can admit that Nicki took a page from the Lil Kim's "How to be a Female MC" book. At the beginning of the year before Nicki had fully became her own, she was pretty much jocking Kim's style, from the remakes of her songs & pictures to the colorful wigs.
The beef seem to not even be a beef, it just sounded like Kim was jealous of Nicki's success and relized that starting a beef with her was in her best intrest to get her name back in the game. Lil Kim claims the beef was started when she heard Nicki talking Sh*t, and not giving respect to her. Kim started talking reckless in interviews and concerts calling Nicki out for being a Swagger Jacker.
The one sided beef got deeper when in one of Kim's concerts Ray J started to talk Sh*t about Nicki Minaj, which sent Drake to Nicki' defense. Drake proclaimed Nicki as the hottest Female MC in the game, and he don't care what Lil Kim has to say about it.
Nicki remained silent through out the whole beef untill she released the single "Romans Revenge" featuring Eminem. In the track she does not drop any names, but she does make refrnes that can only lead us to think she was talking about Lil Kim:
“Look at my show footage all these girls be spazzin, so what the f*ck I look like getting back to a has-been. Yeah I said it, HAS-BEEEN. Hang it up, FLAT SCREEN. PLASMA…
I’m a bad b*tch…I’m a cunt and I’ll kick that hoe…PUNT…You need a job this ain’t cutting it, Nicki Minaj is who you ain’t f*cking wit.”
Who Won: Nicki Minaj! If Kim sells more then 400,000 copies in the first week when she drops her new album, we may reconsider
#1: Rick Ross Vs. 50 cent
"I love to pay her bills/can’t wait to pay her rent/Curtis Jackson baby mama/I aint askin for a cent/Burn the house down/gotta buy another/don’t forget the gas can/jealous, stupid muthaf**ka".
When word got back to the Beef Veteran 50 Cent he then released the first of many diss tracks entitled "Officer Ricky". The track questioned Ricky's past of being a self proclaimed drug king pin, and also introduced the world to the fact that Ross was a prison guard back in the mid 90's.
After the track "Officer Ricky" was released, Ross went on the radio and stated how the track was trash and 50 needed to come harder. The next day 50 Cent released a video on his blog (Thisis50.com) explaing how he felt that Ross only started the beef to sell records. He also used the video to air out how he thought Rick Ross was a fraud and how he planned to f*ck his life up. The same day 50 released the 1st of his Officer Ricky cartoon parody's.
The beef continued for what seemed like forever as each rapper released numerous diss tracks and videos. Even the rappers crews released diss tracks including Lloyd Banks, Toni Yayo, and Triple C's.
The Nail in the coffin: When 50 cent released a video of him interviewing Ricky's baby mama (Tia), where she confirms that Rozay was indeed a Prison Guard and that his whole King Pin persona was fake. 50 Cent then released a sex tape featuring Rozay's other baby mama Brook.
What ended the beef: After the release of 50's interview with Tia & the sex tape, a few diss tracks were exchange till the higher up's at Def Jam (Ross's Label) put 2 separate gag orders on Ross, which lead Ross to put out a statement saying he has moved past his beef with 50.
Who Won: The obvious choice would be to add Ross to the list of rappers that 50 has bodied, but we pick Ross as the winner, for the simple fact that the beef has done more positive to his career in the past year then any other rapper that 50 has set his sights on.
